protel users rejoice! Oaky and protel Air have launched their 2-way integration, making upselling a no-brainer for protel users. 

When a guest books an upgrade or service via Oaky, it will now be automatically added to the guest profile in your protel PMS. You can run Oaky on 100% autopilot mode for most of your deals complete with automated personalisation, so your guests only see what's relevant to them.

The core advantages of the integration

If you’re already making use of the original Oaky protel integration, you’ll know that this partnership allows Oaky to use hotel guest data from protel to send customised upselling offers to guests.

Oaky leverages information like check-in and check-out dates, room type booked, number of guests etc. to segment guests and make sure they’re only shown deals that are relevant to their stay.

How will the 2-way integration work at your hotel?

When a guest requests an available room to upgrade to, or any of the services you offer, their requests are automatically pushed to your protel PMS. No need to manually approve or reject requests!

Good to know

  • Tax is an option that you can set in protel. If the article in protel has a tax%, then the total price that Oaky adds to the Guests’ folio will be including tax. For example if a service costs 100 euros, and the corresponding article in protel has 21% tax as a setting, then the final invoice will be €79 euros base value and €21 euros tax.

  • You cannot activate the 2-way for composite offers (yet). E.g. you have a romantic package that consists of a dinner, a bottle of wine and a plate of strawberries in the room. These items (or articles in protel) have different tax rates, which makes it unable for the systems to calculate the correct price & automatically charge this to the folio
